UNCG Wellness Center
Tobacco Cessation Services
The Wellness Center provides individual cessation services at minimal costs for faculty and staff. The cost for the first visit is $10.00 and $5.00 each visit thereafter. These visits include meetings with a Certified Tobacco Cessation Treatment Specialist. Additional cost may be associated with any Nicotine Replacement Therapy (i.e. patches, gum, lozenges, or prescription medication). Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used for quitting smoking. The Wellness Center at UNCG offers acupuncture services to students, faculty, and staff. The acupuncture clinic is on Mondays from 9:00AM-1:00PM. The cost is $25.00 for students who have paid the student health fee and $40.00 for faculty/staff and students who have not paid the health fee. To make an appointment call 336-334-5340 (option 2). Massage Therapy
Many people smoke or use tobacco products to help them deal with stress. The Wellness Center offers students, faculty and staff another way to deal with stress. Through massage therapy, students, faculty and staff can get either an hour or half-hour massage to help them with whatever is causing them stress in their lives. The cost for massage therapy is:
  • Students who have paid the student health fee
  • Hour massage: $45.00 ˝ hour massage: $30.00
  • Faculty/Staff & non-fee paid students
  • Hour massage: $55.00 ˝ hour massage: $35.00

    Student Health Services Pharmacy
    Many people need assistance to quit smoking. Aids such as Over the Counter Patches and prescription cessation medications such as Buproprion, Wellbutrin, and Chantix are available at the Student Health Services Pharmacy. You can get prescriptions filled whether they were written by a Student Health provider, or your own primary care provider.     State Health Plan The state health plan offers support for persons who want to quit smoking. Individuals may receive up to 10-weeks of over the counter generic nicotine patches and have their $5 co-pay waived if they get support from a provider. Student Health Services can assist with this process, or your primary care provider may also work with you in obtaining the waiver.
