The peer education program is taught by various staff, some members are members of the BACCHUS and GAMMA Peer Education Network, the oldest student organization committed to the education, training and support for prevention on the college campus. Peer Educators earn 4 credits by taking HEA 202 and 203. Peer educator programs can provide an effective and productive method for delivering prevention and risk reduction information as well promoting healthy lifestyle choices as they relate to alcohol and other drugs, sexuality issues, wellness, and diversity.

Drug and Alcohol Peer Educators
The Drug & Alcohol Peer Educators are a newly formed group established to encourage community participation in activities aimed at education and prevention of high risk use and abuse of alcohol and the illegal use of other drugs. They help plan events throughout the year including National Alcohol Awareness Week and Safe Spring Break.
Sexual Health Peer Educators
The peer educators are trained students who provide programs to classes and student groups on topics ranging from sexual assault to safer sex to improving communication in relationships. They also help coordinate awareness-raising events such as the Clothesline Project and Take Back the Night.
Wellness Peer Educators
The Wellness Peer Educators are natural helpers who receive in-depth training on wellness issues such as nutrition, stress management, relationships and body image. Wellness Peer Educators help plan Healthy Weight Week and other events.
Diversity Peer EducatorsStudent Diversity Educators function as a proactive educational advocacy group that promotes diversity and acceptance at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. They increase awareness of diversity related issues, create dialogue that explores diversity and work to build a more cohesive community. Student Diversity Educators help develop educational workshops to promote the awareness, acceptance, and necessity for diversity to UNCG students and the surrounding community.
